Cold Water: The Go-To Choice for Most Yoga Tank Tops

Synthetic fabrics like polyester, nylon, and spandex—common in activewear—are prone to shrinking or warping when exposed to heat. Cold water prevents these issues while still effectively removing sweat, oils, and odors.

For lightly soiled tank tops or those worn during low-intensity workouts, cold water is often sufficient. It also reduces energy consumption, making it an eco-friendly choice. If your machine has a “cold” or “delicate” setting, use it to ensure the water stays at the right temperature throughout the cycle.

When to Consider Lukewarm Water for Tougher Stains
